Doordarshan was awarded the telecast rights for the series after a protracted court battle between ESPN-Star and Zee TV.KS Sarma, the chief executive of Prasar Bharti (Doordarshan), dismissed the idea of sharing the feed with ESPN-Star. “We are not planning to do this, nor are we bound by any obligation to do so,” he said. The quoted him as saying, “As per an existing contract, we have a one-way contract which provides for Prasar Bharti getting live feed for one-day matches and highlights for Test matches in case ESS gets rights. However, we are not obliged to share any highlights with them.”
