Leeds United were back to their best in the 4-0 thumping of Middlesbrough and once they made the breakthrough they never looked like surrendering their lead.

Patrick Bamford opening the scoring will please those at Elland Road but the return to goalscoring form of Mateusz Klich may feel even sweeter.

The Poland international had struggled in that area prior to kick off with just two goals in 19 appearances, and though he had a bit of luck with his first being deflected in, there was no doubt about the second.

Receiving the ball just outside the box, the 29-year-old took his time before curling the ball into the top corner, out of reach for Boro goalkeeper Aynsley Pears.

However, one fan thinks the keeper could have done better, and in general some believe a better defence wouldn’t have conceded.

Though he could have been closed down quicker, it is harsh to take anything away from the superb strike that it is, and if Klich can provide that quality more often then Leeds should build on their sometimes lacklustre attack.

Supporters certainly won’t complain if the midfielder gets in amongst the goals more often, with voices of discontent rising up a few weeks ago, as some wanted Tyler Roberts to start ahead of him.

However, after witnessing his “sublime strike” on Saturday there will likely be no further calls of that nature, with the majority right to react with the positivity they have.
